Main street Nazare was full of restaurants with good food but much higher priced. Decided to explore side streets a bit and came across this place called Mario Peixe. They have a charcoal grill up front with fresh fish displayed. We took a chance to try it and no regrets. Ordered the clams. Excellent. Sardines, Sea Bass and Sea Bream, all grilled over the charcoal. Fantastic. Probably one of the best meals we had in Portugal. Highly recommended.

The perfect place for lunch. It's located on a secondary street and the flavors are just wonderful. The menu has many options ranging from seafood to beef. The portion sizes are fairly large and thus I recommend limiting the starters to a minimum. Less than 5 minutes away from the bea6

Tried the grilled sea-bass, it was really amazing. I really recommend this dish. Fish tastes really fresh and the service was amazing. The location is inside from tourist attraction but it’s a gem of seafood restaurant.

Very nice swordfish but I was left with a bitter taste in the end with the final bill as I was being charged for appetizers which I haven't eaten. But I will come back for sure.
